CAPTURING AN ITALIAN MOMENT
“Walking through the narrow streets of Rome’s old neighbourhood of Campo de’ Fiori on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I saw a pot of yellow flowers sitting on a white chair. As I approached, I noticed a Vespa in the background. To me, this captures the casual beauty of Italy that anyone can appreciate.”
“Vespa” won third prize in the 2012 Accenti Magazine Photo Contest and was displayed at the Annual Accenti Magazine Awards. It was also featured at Accenti’s 5th anniversary photo exhibit held at the Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival in April 2012.
Mariano De Carolis works in the financial sector, but has always had a special interest for the visual arts. Every year he “escapes” to Rome, where he likes to explore the streets less travelled by tourists and observe day-to-day life in the Eternal City.
