Rules & Regulations
Eligibility
This competition is open to photographers worldwide - professionals, amateurs, and students (non-Italians welcome - isn't there some Italian in all of us!). Accenti employees, contractors and sponsoring bodies are not eligible to enter the competition.
Subject
Submissions must capture an “Italian moment,” but can otherwise be about anyone, anything and anywhere.
Submission Criteria
• Submissions must be original photographic works;
• Submissions must have a title;
• Submissions can be in colour or black and white;
• Digital files must be in high-resolution jpeg, eps or tiff format at 300 ppi, a minimum of 12 cm (5 inches) on the shortest side, a maximum of 25 cm (10 inches) on the longest side, and not exceed 5 MB in total capacity.
Conditions of Entry
• Please send your submissions by:
a) email to accenti@accenti.ca (indicating “Accenti Photo Competition” in the subject field), or
b) regular mail on CD to the coordinates below.
• Entries must be received (postmarked) on or before January 22, 2010.
• Submissions must be identified only by their title, appearing in the filename.
• Submissions must not bear any signatures, stamps, watermarks, copyright marks, or any other identifying symbols.
• Each submission must be accompanied by a duly completed entry form (click HERE to download PDF file) and the entry fee.
• Entry fee: $10.00 per submission. Cheques or money orders should be made to Accenti Magazine. DO NOT MAIL CASH!
• Multiple entries welcome.
• No fax submissions.
Please Note
• If you are mailing your entry on CD, package your work carefully to prevent damage during shipping. CDs will not be returned.
• DO NOT SEND ONE-OF-A-KIND PRINTS. THEY WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
• Receipt of mailed submissions will be acknowledged only if a self-addressed postcard with sufficient postage is included.
• Receipt of emailed submissions will be acknowledged by email, once entry fee is received.
• Submissions which do not meet all the conditions and criteria will be disqualified. Entry fee will not be returned.
Judging
Blind judging. Winners will be contacted in Spring 2010. Winning submissions and honourable mentions will be displayed at the Accenti Magazine Awards in Montreal at the 12th Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival, April 23, 2010.
Prizes
• Top prize: $1000.00 (CDN) and publication in Accenti.
• Second Prize: $250.00 (CDN) and publication in Accenti.
• Third Prize: $100.00 (CDN) and publication in Accenti.
• Honourable mentions.
